Trending @Infosys; Onsite at Marseille vs Offer From MNC

I got an offer of 18 LPA from a MNC. This is all fixed. And my manager is offering me onsite at Marseille with 3000 euro per month net. Problem is that this onsite salary is inclusive of my Fixed India Salary. What shall I do? Shall I consider onsite or opt for this MNC. Onsite deputation is initially 1 year. Post that it can be extended. And will my salary be revised once I came back to India?

Your salary will be fixed till the time you’re there and there will be no hike and promotions till the time you’re onsite . However in 90 percent cases the deputation gets extended or they’ll relocate you in similar country if extension is not possible. I would suggest you ask your manger to give you written confirmation that you’ll get onsite in next month or so

Actually He is asking me withdraw the resignation post that he will initiate the visa process. I already dropped a mail asking him regarding an estimated timeline.

If the visa process has not yet started then opt for MNC bro cuz visa assignment completion alone will take 6 months from the day assignment is initiated. You won’t even know if client will be ready to sponsor you after 6 months . I thought you had visa in hand , my bad.

18 LPA at MNC. take this without any doubt. also consider what the condition Europe is in. i would take the 1st one without second thoughts. don’t take the on-site carrot

Not necessarily it will get revived after 1 year, more often not

Depends on your long term goals- want to work abroad and settle or look for a better pay. Movement within European countries will be easier as you gain experience however don’t expect much pay while staying in Infosys. At some point you will have to switch. No company will start initiating visa unless you take back your resignation and is not a surprise.

Considering the current situation in west, Europe is already broken with high cost of living and no employment etc. Would advise take the MNC offer if you don’t have any onsite aspirations.

It’s not a simple answer . Depends on your age and stage of career. If you are all about hoping around in the job market for 30-40% hike every year , please go for the mnc. On-site opportunity is also a great eye opener for many things . I am keeping aside the geo politics currently . Also quality of life in a place in Europe will definitely be better compared to India.
