One should never be out of touch for doing hands-on things from the technical perspective

If the thing in this post's title is taken care of, then one can go for managerial roles also, don't completely agree with the OP here.

I was so relieved to not be promoted this last cycle, because I knew it would come with more managerial and less technical growth. TBH it was a bitter sweet feeling since I have already been in my existing role for over two years now. So planning to negotiate a situation where I can code 50% of the week into my next role as well at my current org.
