One of the worst interview experience with CoinDCX
So I applied on Coindcx website for an open role about a week ago.
Their HR “manager” called me after CV review and asked general questions like past role, why looking for a change etc. Then came the CTC part. He said my expected CTC is out of their budget as their budget is like 10% increment from my current role but he will try to stretch to 15%, the next day I called and said since I need to move city as well if you can get upto 20, I am good. His response “lets start the process and then we will see”
Next day Round 1. The person join the called and was without camera, even though my camera was on (I always thought its common courtesy to have camera on). From her way of talking it looked she was not prepared or afraid to take interview.
There was no introduction, no hello, we straight away went to interview. She said she will ask 1 DSA question, 1 SQL question then some theory.
I solved the DSA question, she asked me to add few things I did, now her reaction to this was (I am not able to understand how your code works so I am not sure it will give output).
Then we went to SQL question, her question had incorrect values and I had to point it out to her, I solved that as well with some assumptions as I forgot some syntax. She then forgot the actual output and said your output is incorrect then I showed this is what you asked so she was like okay
Then abruptly we ended the interview when she said please ask any questions which I asked around work, even that she was not answering correctly. It was like either she was not interested or she was afraid.
Within hours I got rejection mail as well.
So either because of CTC they did a formal interview (which I am like you can say you are out of budget), or if your interviewer is not good please get it fixed.
Will never apply for this company for sure

I had a similar experience with them a couple of years ago except it was a panel interview with 3 interviewers.
Nobody had their cameras turned on. They asked 2 DSA questions which I solved with correct output. One of the panel (the loudest one) didn't correctly know the amortised time complexity of the second question and I had to explain the maths and calculations from ground up. Then they abruptly ended the interview (no time for questions) and I got a rejection mail later.
I've never applied to them and will never respond to their recruiter messages again.

Sorry to hear about your experience. The interview process says a lot about the company culture.
Curious if CoinDCX even has a future?

They did some layoff in August and hiring again. And given India rules I am not sure
I applied purely because of their brand name (I didnt check about layoffs)

I left CoinDCX a year ago. Very dumb dead hollow company starting with the top. Worst interview culture too.

So you think this interview might just be a way to reject a candidate, based on your experience?

No. I think many are just not competent at interviewing nor deeply care for who they bring in. It’s a task for them which no one is monitoring. You got to understand the company has no rich culture or bonding.

I had the worst interview experience in github. the interviewer was immature , no introduction and asked one question that is implement stack using queue, but you should run code once and it should work correctly. I mean how? I asked the same and he was giving shit excuses saying your mental map shoud know. I can’t confirm correct output in one go. When the recruiter gave feedback, I countered him that this is the worst interview experience I ever had, and told who pushes the code into production with testing in one go ?

Sounds really bad , I spend good 30% time introducing myself, explaining the role again , giving time to ask questions just based on my introduction. It's basic courtesy, a interview is both sided evaluation. The candidate also has to evaluate if they want to work in an org or not.

I worked in 5 companies till now and that is the basic taught to us.
Keep your camera on
Introduce your self, you position and little work detailed
Ask for their introduction
And in end qna for them
And I applied for a senior role so assuming interviewer is also a senior role, I am not sure how a senior person can be like that

She was like - I have boyfriend 😅. You should be thankful that you did not got selected here. Everyone in company is just waiting for a bull market. That is the only strategy they have right now.

Same happened for zepto some dumbass fuck idiot who doesn't know basics python modules and became Business Analyst -2 and asking what the Numpy, Beautiful soup and SQL question with no camera no proper introduction very lazy and he is BA-2 at zepto with tier one background idk when I have came across his resume after 4 months i enquired about him he took all the credit in the past for other works such a morons in zepto.
I interviewed with them some years ago. My experience wasn't too different either. Cameras off, steamrolling and snapping through answers. They probably think they are doing candidates a huge favor by shortlisting them for interviews to their esteemed company.

Even interviewer was not prepared I think. She was confused half the time And who doesnt give their introduction during interview. Isn’t that interview 101 taught to people?
