One of my colleague from my team is asking me to raise a mentoring request with her and discuss my aspirations and future career aspects with her..WTH is this ? Is it mandatory to do or it's just bull shit. Pls suggest your views mates.

She is just doing it because she will get a mentorship certificate from tcs lol, its called NextGen mentoring something I think, don't agree

Lol, that person has a goal in his/her goalsheet for mentoring. You will listen to bs in the session and help that person fulfill their goal. Say NO if that person is not your supervisor.

It is not mandatory but voluntary. Mentors are available to guide and show you the path to growth.

Mentoring is an initiative at TCS. It is a voluntary discussion if you need any career guidance or wish to discuss any aspirations. Personally I have mentored several associates and seen my mentees grow in their area of interest. Most of the time people are not comfortable discussing aspirations with immediate supervisor, you can choose the mentor based on your area of interest and mentor profiles/experience

Don't do it if you don't report to her. Is useless.
