On-site vs 32LPA

I have L1 visa in TCS and can travel immediately. I have 16 yo experiences in TCS and earning 16.5L only. I have got an opportunity to work with other company with 30L fixed and 2L Variable pay. I am now confused whether I can take this offer or not! Note: My family can’t travel with me. I too don’t have any plans to stay in USA forever. I can stay there for maximum of 4-5 years!

Any advice?

Dear I would suggest go ahead with a 32 LPA offer as on-site you can get later on but think if you are at 16.5 and went to US good on-site salary and then return back to india after 1 year... In this situation you again going to start with zero ..Hope you got that..Also these are your own decisions, and you have to make a decision and prove it right !!

If you get On Site plus at least 25 LPA then you can stay back

Every BU has a limited retention. They may or not retain you. As per guidelines I know we have a strict retention budget.

Exactly! In my account, they never retained anyone so far

32 LPA in the USA isn't as good as it seems from an Indian perspective (purchasing power parity). Rent alone can be around $1,000, with another $1,000 for other expenses approx.

But, staying too long in TCS isn’t ideal since salary hikes aren’t great, so switching jobs is important.

*That’s just my opinion, and I’m not experienced.

32LPA comes around 1.75L take home. US package is $96K which is around $5K monthly.

Move to another company..you will get a new project/team and may get a chance to travel onsite also maybe in future from the other company

@DiscreteGrin - My honest opinion for you is that you should travel if chances are 100% and you dont have exposure to onsite environment like Client handling/discussion. If you already have seen all this then i would suggest you to take the 32 LPA offer as you are far too behind from what you deserve at this level. I have around similar CTC in TCS with 10.5 YOE

Choose wisely!!
