On-campus Placements
Hey, Does it help in my selection if I know the recruiter & talk to him beforehand, who is going to conduct the virtual on campus placements in my college? I have good internship& interview experiences & would be a great candidate.

In some colleges it is prohibited if you try to contact the recruiter unless you know him because of internship or through some connections like his colleague is your senior or friend. It's not a big deal. But if you are reaching random recruiters on LinkedIn to get some headstart can be considered unfair only if the recruiter notifies your placement cell.

I am the Placement Coordinator actually and handling that placement drive. Also I have been in contact with him 6 months before regarding an off campus internship, but I don't think he would remember that.

As far as I have observed in the off campus hiring process. Everything is systematic like the interviewer sends your score or shortlist result to the recruiter and then the recruiter takes action as needed. But in on-campus, I don't think there is a system like this.. I mean no registration on the portal and all those things.. so it is in the hands of the recruiter..? I may be wrong though, pls clarify if someone knows..

Placement cell folks were always the first people to get internships/job It's rampant. Go get your 40lpa right Outta college job.

Yes, I have also heard that. But it is very beneficial if the placement process is happening onsite. The company in which I want to go is doing a virtual process. Can you please tell me what I should say to that recruiter regarding my selection and how?
If u want, we can connect over mail also..
