Trending @Infosys; On Bench :Trying to Switch
So, it is going to be 2yrs in few months since I joined this company (Top 3 IT brand: I don't know why) Was happy after getting an offer letter from a top MNC ,Completed my generic and stream training and got released from training. Was re-skilling my skills in the hope of getting a project. Apart from this did these things *Completed many trainings through lex *Completed accelerate tasks (5-6) *Gave PPT presentation to other bench folks *DQ:85 *Got good comments from my previous manager *Continously pinging managers (Their reply: No opportunities available as of now, Looking for experienced once, blah blah...)
Got project? "A Big No"
I know the situation of this market right now but not getting a single chance to understand a project is also not fair with people being on bench from long time.
Yes, I got some interview calls at the beginning but after interview when I asked for the status they told they are looking for experienced once or position is on hold .(Irony: for getting experience you need to get into a project and for getting into a project they are looking for experienced once) I have seen many folks are getting auto mapped to another project after completion of first one. but for folks being on bench no vacancies are available. Now I'm tired of trying over here and want to get out of this trap.is it possible to get an offer letter from another company without having real time experience in project? Please refer me:) Note: It's not only my story but the everyone's who is literally trying .
Thanks in Advance
It is possible. Just build something on your own and say it is an internal project that you have worked on.
If you are good enough with the skills you mentioned, nobody cares.I switched to Java Springboot the same way, I only have personal projects from YouTube and other courses, nothing else,I used to work on Flexcube before,I have no java realtime experience before joining infosys.
Still, they hired, I also had other offers before joining infy. Just to let you know, not just infy other companies also don't care if you are good enough for the role.

Thanks for your suggestion

From your senior, a word of advice... No one cares about your DQ or internal certificates outside Infosys, and even inside. If you don't have a project, they will earmark you and put you outside organisation very soon.
Start learning tech from Udemy or Youtube and create your own kitty project on GitHub. Make the project based on real life problems and not random ideas from internet. Think what the latest startups are working on, make a project out of it. Build the backend and frontend both. Show your skills, and host in on a free platform online.
Start giving interviews at leading and startup companies. Give the link to your kitty project in the interview and inside your resume.
Crack the interview, get offer. Resign from Infy, ask if they can match the offer. If not, move on.
3 months later, you find yourself better than your peers and you have matured in the software industry.
Congratulations!! 💯🎉🎂🎈🎊

Sure Sir, your words are really helpful:)

Your scenario is pretty ideal. You can make personal projects and portray them as your experience. Only thing you will lack is the experience of handling pressure and stressful situation, breaking prod code, getting yelled at by clients.
You can cheer up. Make a switch I would say.

On it:)

Somewhat similar story here, worked on project for a year and I am on bench for 1.5 years now. Which technology you are trying to shift in, it will be great to connect with you if you don't mind.
