"Achieved what they set to achieve". They are talking as if the startup industry in India no longer needs any funding. " Wanted to play a catalytic role" omidyar is not even as famous as matrix or elevation capital. They are speaking as if they are like goldman sachs etc. most likely they have been out competed by other VC with more Domestic expertise and now omidyar feels they need to go find some new blue ocean.
Such a bad portfolio. I wonder how can you make so mamy wrong bets without making any good bet.
Fomo investing by VCs. They rarely look at core fundamentals and believe a lot of unrealistic assumptions. Which is wierd considering how high the hiring bar is for VC roles. Imagine going thru top colleges and MBB/ib and then retiring your thinking skills and taking shots at random
