Oil in INDIAN OCEAN
Is it possible that there can be a lot of oil and gas reserves in Indian ocean? Is Indian ocean so deprived of oil and natural gases. There isn't a single production block which can reduce our dependency on oil

There probably is (atleast tiny ones) but I guess they don't want to invite a friendly invasion from the US :P

Here's a wild idea
Let it stay there!
We need independency from the foreign reserves. Hope someday we will discover huge reserves In or around our water bodies

And independence from foreign reserves will yield what?
Best approach is to play with the hand we are dealt. Economies are trying to move away from Oil, slowly. Energy efficiency and diversification of sourcing is easier and more beneficial. Hydro, solar, nuclear etc
Worst, most inefficient use of Oil: City commuters transport Best use of Oil: Non Energy Oil products
Reduce consumption of petroleum and diversify energy mix: We will have a better economy and geopolitical power in a decade, a roaring one after two

Is there oil in Myanmar? We can invade Myanmar right?
But there is Golden triangle in that area which might bring other super powers into the war🤷♂️

The question is whether they can be drilled profitably at the current oil price? The same problem is not letting oil production in the artic
But India never announced that there are deposits found in or around Indian ocean Hope we will find it someday and can also be drilled profitably.

There are some oil deposits around Andaman sea but there's been some issues like potential damage to local ecology, quality etc.
