Office vs city stay

Hi everyone,

Need some advice on a practical life decision.

Currently I’m staying in BTM Stage — pretty chill setup: 1RK, ₹9.5k rent, terrace access, secure bike parking. Been here ~2 years. Office is in Bharatiya City Tech Park (BCIT), so I commute ~57 km daily on my Meteor 350, which takes around 2.5 hours total.

I’m considering moving closer to office (around Hebbal / Esteem Mall area, ~6–7 km away) to cut down commute time.

But trade-offs:

• I’ll be farther from friends (Indiranagar ~13 km, Sarjapur also far)
• Currently most friends are within ~7 km from BTM
• We don’t meet very frequently (mostly weekends), but still feels like I’ll lose that proximity

From the new place, commute becomes much easier, but social life might take a hit.

Given this, what would you realistically choose? Stay for comfort + social proximity OR move for better daily routine + time savings?

Would really appreciate honest opinions 🙏
