Offer Letter with 1-Year End Date – Looking for Guidance from Deloitte Professionals

Hi everyone,

I recently got selected for a Consultant role in Deloitte, and during the HR discussion, I was informed that my offer letter will mention an end date of 1 year. I was told that this is not a third-party contract role, and I will be working directly on Deloitte projects. They mentioned it’s based on project duration and performance, and decisions will be taken after 1 year.

I wanted to understand:

1. Is this common in Deloitte for Consultant-level hires?
2. What usually happens after the 1 year — are people extended, made permanent, or rolled off?
3. Should I be concerned or consider this as a standard practice?

I would truly appreciate guidance or insights from anyone who has faced a similar scenario or knows more about this practice.
