Offer Comparison
I've received two job offers and could use some advice on which one to choose.
Current: Software Engineer II CTC: Around 12 LPA YOE: Almost 3 years.
Offer 1: Product Development Engineer II, Razorpay
Offer 2: Software Engineer, Pluralsight
Both offers are in the range 18 LPA to 24 LPA and Pluralsight is the higher offer in terms of CTC. Also they seem to have more employee benefits compared to razorpay. Which offer seems more appealing based on the role, WLB, company outlook, growth etc.
Also a bit skeptical about the PDE II role at Razorpay because they mention that PDE II individuals can only advance to SDE 2 after being promoted to SDE 1 first, and then to SDE 2.

why is razorpay paying so less for this role

Turns out that's the maximum they can offer for PDE II role

i think you are mistaken here, i know someone earning around 24-32 for pde2 at razorpay

Look at the tech stack and learning opportunities. What does a product development engineer typically do and how different is it from software engineer?

Some say all the core things will only be taken care of by SDEs while others say PDE has the same work that an SDE does but with a lesser pay.

I'd suggest reach out to folks working in those roles in these two companies and understand their work

Lol for PDE2 they offered me 15LPA today, all basic and no ESOP, no bonus, no relocation nothing Btw OP where did you join?

I'm joining Pluralsight

@GhodaGaadi Hey bro can you please share the machine coding round question

PDE at Razorpay is considered way inferior then SDE. Also the quality of work given to PDE 2 is not good, they are supposed to do the menial and redundant task unless you prove to be extraordinary.

Thanks for the clarification. Wanted to know this from a Razorpay employee.

Join Pluralsight in my opinion - they just got acquired by a PE firm for $3.5 Bn- this might suggest that the PE firm views growth opportunities for PluralSight business. Also the company has been operating in Ed-tech space since 2004 - expect culture to be more sorted than Razorpay.
If the tech stack is similar - unless you got ESOPs - PluralSight it is.

Plural sight is much better

In ur ctc.. is variable pay included?

@CIDMoosa696 yes

Pluralsight is the good option

Be prepared to face anything if you join razorpay. Fintech is so bad in India
