Offer cancellation by companies

Does companies cancel offer if for eg our notice period doesn't allow us to join company earlier. I asking because I will ve discussing offer with a company where before interview I told my np is 1 month however it is 3 months now my intent is to take offer and resign from my current company and seek better opportunities with other company. But if in 3 months I don't get better offers I will join this company till then will my offer will be valid or it may get terminate If I don't join sooner please guide me regarding this it will be very helpful
