Notice Period Nightmare

Should India have a standard notice period across industries? There are some companies that follow 3 months notice period and I think it’s absolutely ridiculous, making it difficult to switch jobs.. comment your thoughts what should be ideal notice period.. I think 15 days is

30 days is fine.. They 90 days, to avoid frequent switches and reduce the freedom of employees..to take decision quickly..

30 days should be the norm but I've made myself feel better about 90 days. If you get an appraisal and want to jump companies, atleast they force you to stay 3 months before leaving. Which makes it easier for the next company who asks you for last 3 months salary, on your appraised salary.
