Trending @Capgemini; Notice period and project release

Im serving notice period now and can i ask for project release as im facing some health issue(physical inability) and i am ok to stay on bench for the rest of notice period and do the work related to the operations team? As one of my friend has been on bench for two years was working with the operations team.is it possible. Or if i get project release will they immediately give me the company relase?
