Notice Period -

Not able to switch because of 3 months Notice Period. Every company is looking for immediate joiners. What should I do? Is there an option to buyout?

Brutally honest from personal exp and feedback I got from a recruiter head hunter.

If your notice period is more than 30 days, companies will not hire you unless you are exceptional. That means super freaking talented that you are goated in the domain. The latter is very rare.

So yeah, that being said, his recommendation was put in the paper and closer towards the end of your notice period. You end up getting offers. You will be surprised.

Companies want people to join now. Immediately. It's a fair ask as well. A lot of companies have stopped giving offer prior to NP submission because a lot of candidates abused the system, taking the offer and getting higher package in the current organisation they are working for. So organisations lost out on a lot of potential.

So if you really wanna jump, take the risk and put down your paper. Or if you are happy with everything as it is, then only do it when required. Otherwise, become the GOAT in your domain so you get offers lined up.

Always remember that if the time is bad and you are getting offers during NP or not, that means you are having on demand talent. Other good times when organisations have money and only then you getting offers then trust me its time to upskill.

thank you this makes so much sense. But I’m just scared to put down papers given todays job market. 😢

yes. You can take the release from the project and once you are on bench. You can get immediate release from TCS. I did the same thing. Now I have joined different organization

There’s a dependency on me so my manager will never release me from the Project
