Notice before Variable pay??

Hi everyone,

I hope someone can solve my query here,

My performance review will be done in April and variable pay will be paid on May end.

If I put papers in May middle , can the organization deny the paying variable??

I want to put papers because the notice period is 1 month now, after May end it will be 3 months

Please suggest, I am confused whether to wait take variable pay and serve 3 months notice or put variable in risky in case of notice in mid May.

Also, whether the prospective companies accept 3 months notice?

Companies have three sorts of policies on this. Some companies deny variable if you are in notice period. Some companies give variable if you are in company on the payment date. And some companies give, but with lowered down.

Usually people get to know the case by asking around, or talking to someone who had faced the situation earlier.

Good thing for you is, for your specific scenario, irrespective of the case, you can get full bonus. Usually the payroll of most companies get locked by 15th or 20th of the month. So even though you get salary on last working day, the order for that has gone out 1-2 weeks prior only. So if you resign on anytime post 20th May, in most likelihood, you will get full Bonus amount. May be resign as close to salary day as possible.

In my company payroll is locked on 27th , and my last date to put papers if I want to serve only 1 month notice is on 26th may.
