Not getting Project Release

I have been asking for project release from past 3-4 months. HR and manager both denied. Manager recently mailed We will review next year.

I have stopped working now and taking leaves unplanned from past 1-2 weeks. Now he told we need to discuss regarding this both availability and performance.

Should I directly say to him in call I need release and won't work until I get it. Or try a different approach. Any suggestions?

Don't stop working; it harms your reputation. Request a formal meeting with your manager and HR. Express your concerns professionally. Consider escalating if no resolution. Keep communication documented.

Earlier he staight away told we can't give you release. After I took these measures then got some update that he will review. Needed to take this step as I don't want to work here anymore.

Already had meetings earlier with both HR and manager. They both told we can't give release . Maybe if I continue this they'll give release

You can ask him for release but after getting released don't be unallocated try to get into another project so your rating will be under new project so even if your current manager give you bad rating it won't effect much
