Not getting good quality work as a Software Engineer
I do not seem to get good quality work ANYWHERE
Had been ex-FAANG intern, there I was made to do grunt work too
Then worked in a startup, my role there is software engineer in name only, the work I do is more like that of an SDET/QA, literally wrote very little code till now
What can I do to save my career? Why do companies scam so much? There is so little overlap between JD and actual work

You're hired to get their work done. So, there's no point in complaining about it.
If you are not satisfied, take up or initiate new work at your organisation. It can start small as a side project.

That's fine, but they should have mentioned all this in the JD no? Mentioned something else, making me do something entirely different
I tried doing side initiatives, but there isn't enough support

I'm pretty much sure that, somewhere in the process, they would have mentioned about role expectations changing based on requirements.
Also, for the side project, no enough support is a very bad reason

Welcome to the real world. Everything thing is fake here.

My friend has hired as react intern but was assigned webflow work
