Not getting any interview calls despite working for a reputable company.

I'm a DevOps engineer with 1+ YoE and looking for a switch currently. Not getting any interview calls. Any advice or openings?

The current market needs 3 years of experience minimum as far as I know other than startup companies.

Please continue working well in your day job and ignore hikes in your initial years since they will be negligible due to a relatively low CTC and continue gaining skills.

Focus on devops a lot more learn famous cloud computing technologies like AWS OR GCP and docker + kubernetes and try spending time exploring MLOPS and upskill in it.

I'm already learning DevOps.
Might explore MLOPs.

Too continue one needs the to have the will which is only incentivised by growth internally, which is negligible. I want to switch that's the bottomline

A ton of people are looking for work right now the market is definitely competitive. If you really want to switch, the only advice I can give is apply quickly to job postings within hours of when they're posted and have good dsa. It won't be too easy due to heavy competition but good luck.

Don't limit yourself to DevOps. Go for any development role where you have skills match

I'm looking for jobs in Cloud, CloudSec, SRE, Platform Engineering as well. No luck so far.

Referrals increase your chances. I would say apply for normal boring Java, C++, python roles as well.

More jobs in such a generic space. Good pay.

Hey Op, What sort of skills do you have currently with respect to platforms?

AwS, K8s, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Terraform, Ansible, GCP, Python etc. Generic DevOps stuff but I have quite the technical depth

Do you think SAP has Jobs?.... Don't mislead people.... DevOps is far better than SAP and has massive scope.

Only Devops won't help you.

1+ YOE is just 1 YOE to the companies which is simply not enough for DevOps/SRE/Cloud Engineering Roles. Consider having at least 3 YOE before considering a switch in the same domain.

  1. First they wanted degree (so I got the degree)
  2. Then they wanted skills not degree (so I got the skills too)
  3. Now they don't want both, they want experience.

For experience you need job for getting job you need experience.
