Not adding value to the company
TL;DR:
Need advice on how to actually analyse the data instead of being a query runner as a data analyst.
Although I am getting better at querying for data and creating the required reports but I genuinely have no idea how to give directional/actual advice to the company based on that data.
I am being limited to the grunt work of fetching data day in and day out and I want some advice regarding how one can start inculcating the analytical mindset.
There is no proper senior to guide me through the process since I am the only Analyst on the team and the rest of the members from the Analytics team are scattered across different departments.
I work at a D2C Loyalty and Rewards company as a Data Analyst. Because of my communication skills and lack of manpower I handle sales and customer retention as well.
Just got confirmed as a full time employee yesterday at 5LPA for all the above roles and I realised maybe it's because I have nothing to offer to the company in terms of growth.
Any help/word of advice is appreciated!

So you prepare the dish based on the order placed by customers. Now you want to prepare some new dish on your own without anyone placing an order for that, expecting someone would really love it if tried.
For that you need to understand the customer's taste, liking and disliking.
You need to understand the business not whole but at least the portion you are handling. Pick up the pain points, what's something the org is trying to solve. How your proactive analysis can contribute to it. We call that work backward here at Amazon.

Hey thanks a lot for taking time out to reply. I get the concept. Working backward is a lovely approach.
