Not able to get interview call for 8+

I have been aggressively applying for jobs in the last 2 months however I have not even received 1 interview call. I have spoken to others and they have told me that it should be my resume.

I am bad at writing or self promotion which is essential in making first impression. After not getting any calls I am comprehending wether to get resume writes in LinkedIn to help me, I feel job hunting should be a complete self job rather than outsourcing part of it, maybe I am out of touch as my last job hunt happened 6 years ago.

Any advice is much appreciated.
