Not able to get a single internship

I'm a senior year CS student from 3rd tier college and I'm not able to get one internship even though I have good enough skills. I have in-depth ML knowledge and I'm proficient in SQL and Python. I've had a deep passion for data science and machine learning ever since I took the college courses so I've never been complacent, I'm always trying to strengthen my stats and ml knowledge. I've worked on good enough projects too. I have also been ghosted after multiple rounds (with the team lead and the department head).

I don't understand if the job market is fucked or I'm falling incompetent.

This is a depressing time for someone passionate who wants to learn and grow.
