Not able to decide. Please share some guidance on switching the company.

Need your suggestion here.

I’m developer with 6 years of experience. I live in Visakhapatnam with my family settled here and I have 1.5 yr old baby whom I need to take care.

I recently switched company to cognizant with 16lpa(fixed+variable) and location is Hyderabad.

Before switching I also gave interview for Infosys and got selected but they didn’t confirmed the offer. So I joined Cognizant.

Now, almost after 1 month Infosys released my offer letter with 18 lpa(fixed+variable) and location is Hyderabad.

Both the companies are hybrid model. I thought I could travel 3 days a week and come back to vizag.

Now here in Cognizant, My project just got assigned and will start from 1st week of September. In this project, they say 4 days WFO is mandatory.

In Visakhapatnam, we have Infosys office and Cognizant announced they will start office from next year. But to transfer location to Vizag, it will take more than 1.5 years in both the companies i guess.

Now I want to work from Vizag, so I can be with my baby. I’m not sure how I can do this.

You guys suggest me what can I do here?

1. Stay in Cognizant and wait till they set up office in vizag and then transfer? (Until then I need to travel. Also, project has 4 days WFO)

2. Switch to Infosys and ask your manager if we can report to Vizag location ? ( not sure if they accept it or not. Also, HR told me it will be required 1.5 yrs to transfer location). If yes. All happy. If no, then I need to follow the above one to travel to Hyd every week.

3. I joined Cognizant on 30th july. If I quit now, will it be a remark for me in my resume as for the short duration? Also how many days will be the notice?

4. Stay in Cognizant as project got already assigned and almost everything is settling here. As in Infosys, again we need to give interviews for projects.

Please help me here. I’m stuck and not able to decide what to do.
