Non billable Project

I’m currently working on a project that is non-billable, and I’ve been filling out my timesheet as non-billable. Will this cause any issues in the future?

No. The way it works is there are two types of billing for any associate

  1. Fix Bid: The money is paid to TCS by client upfront for certain developers for certain period of time. E.g.: 10 Developers for 6 months. If you are non-billable in a project it means your payment is in Fix Bid
  2. Billable: Here the client will individually pick and choose to pay for an associate on hourly basis. If you are a billable associate it means client is paying TCS only for your time.

It is a good move to be billable as it adds the value that you bring to the TCS. Also they will beg for you to not resign and try so hard to retain you.

Are people in support projects billed like fix bid? Because I have been filling hours in unassigned tasks under project swon as no tasks are available to claim. Supervisor said its okay to do so.

It does not matter as long as you are allocated to PROJECT
