NOC engineer

I just had a call from HR for a noc engineer post. Now I am currently a UI developer and have interest in networking. However after googling and reading the JD, I have a doubt that this is a technical support job with a fancy name.

If anyone is a NOC engineer or knows one, can you please tell me if my suspicion is correct?

Network Operations Center? It usually has got very little to do with actual Networking, or Engineering (little to no dev work unless you are building tooling for NOC). Their primary focus is to respond to and mitigate service outages/incidents. Of course different companies may operate differently. (Disclaimer: Not a NOC engineer myself).
