No tech PM
I am a non tech PM working into a pure technology B2B2C saas start up. I always get a yearly round of depressive epiphany where I did right by leaving by program manager role in manufacturing and moving into this alien domain where 80% of task seem to be program management but still the courses, books and gurus tell differently about product management. How many of u feel the same?

Indulge my stupidity for a second cause I've no idea if you're says wheather you are glad you became a non Tech PM or if you hate it.

To be brutally honest, I am glad with the definition of PM but it feels in unfamiliar territory where u are not master of analytics or tech or design.
Also, considering I am good with program management becoz that's where I started I keep falling back to those approach where as if I look back that's not how Product manager should suppose to work

@Marketer_Wanna_Be You got the answer?

Hi iam trying to transition into a product role..it would be highly helpful if you could provide me some insights and any mode to contact

Mode with highest chance of success is to transition into PM role within the current company itself but reaching out to product leader
Else you can independently start with PM internship and if u can excel and get some referrals from the team where u interned that can help you break into PM role.
But apart from general cracking into the PM role what may help succeed from the start is having strong hold on one dimension of product lifecycle - business, analytics, design or sales

The last one is where the actual struggle is if u were not prepared before hand
