No more Birthdays are Happy now !

Birthdays often bring about a unique kind of reflection, don't they? It's like a pause button in the usual rush of life, prompting us to look back at the year gone by and maybe even a bit further. For some, it's a moment of celebrating accomplishments, big or small. They might feel a sense of gratitude for the experiences they've had, the challenges they've overcome, and the people who've been a part of their journey. It can be a real boost of self-appreciation. On the other hand, birthdays can also stir up feelings of introspection about things that haven't gone as planned or goals that are still on the horizon. It's natural to take stock and perhaps feel a little pressure or a renewed sense of urgency about the direction life is taking. Sometimes, the realization is simply about the passage of time itself. It can be a gentle reminder of our own mortality and the preciousness of each moment. This might lead to a desire to live more fully, to prioritize what truly matters, and to make the most of the time we have. And of course, for many, birthdays are primarily about connection – celebrating with loved ones, feeling appreciated, and strengthening bonds. The realization here might be about the importance of relationships and the joy they bring. Ultimately, the "realization" on a birthday is a very personal thing. It can be a mix of emotions and thoughts, and it often evolves as we move through different stages of life. What kind of realizations have your birthdays brought you?

There was a time, when we used to invite all of our neighbourhood friwnds on our birthday. All the elders helped in preparing food. We used to wear party hats, decorate the wall with coloured paper and balloons, cut the cake, have a feast, enjoy the evenning, etc. Then patiently wait for everyone to leave to open up the gifts. Now, we just cut a cake with parents and siblings, and take some pictures. Feels like I have come a long way.

OK hear me out. Our birthday is day we got introduced to this world, no work no effort on our end. Our mothers pushed us out after 9 months. Then why do we celebrate and take gifts when we didn't really do anything
