No idea if this is true, but straight from HR's mouth
HR stated that officially 80k have already been terminated and unofficially its 1.2k. Today our project manager gave a 9hr WFO mandate, with no exceptions being approved except for medical ones.
Yesterday a guy sitting besides me in office was told by his manager "You are a very good resource, but iam sorry, i cant help, we will have to let u go"!! No warnings, no criteria.....its literally "SHOOT AT SIGHT"
In a way it’s a good thing that people are getting laid off. Layoff cleans the workforce. Almost all good companies have layoffs. Maybe one day TCS will be filled with only good employees.
These scammers just simply come and spread rumours without knowing anything. These kinds of people need to be terminated first to save the company. We will strip you off on 9th October.
Are you blind? Can you not see the heading? Its not a conclusive statement, it is open for discussion, had I intended to spread a rumor, the heading would have been " 80k terminated" period!!
Unofficially it is 1.20 L. 1L from IT and rest 20k from BPS people. Gitanjali Park TCS already took off abt 6.5 K experienced people. Mostly from C3A and above grades.....At the same time hiring is happening in bulks at freshers pool. Thereby the actual count is not getting affected at all 😺....Seeing these in front of my own eyes....

That is false news. How does even HR know? No one knows for exact.
