No Family No Friend

I joined a new team two months ago and wanted to share an incident that recently took place. A female teammate reported to HRBP that a colleague had accessed her compensation details. I later learned that she has been living away from her family and has shared that her parents never treated her well, and she even mentioned that her father had molested her. This gained her a lot of sympathy from others. What stood out to me was that the person she filed the complaint against is the same individual who had referred her to Amazon and helped her get hired.

I'm trying to stay away from her but my manager keeps asking me to connect with her and get trained on her activities. Please suggest what I do.

Run... This is trouble. Leave the company if need be.

I don't think leaving the company is only the solution

I don't have the heart to advise nonsense like - speak to your manager, have an open conversation, talk to the lady and understand their pov.

Run, donot have more than 1 min of conversation. Remember POSH and maintain distance.

Also donot have 1:1 directly, always involve a 3rd person to neutralize the conversation and act as a witness to any foul.

My case - is gave some feedback on PR review and that person complained to manager and Director. My promotion took a hit by 1 year.

Regardless of whatever she did... What's the harm in having a professional relationship ? Just talk normally to her and do whatever you're supposed to do.
Just be a bit cautious about your boundaries; she doesn't sound like the person you may want to gossip with 😀

There is problem. What's the guarantee they will notice posh policy?

Get this thing highlighted otherwise you can be in trouble next time. You don’t have to leave the company. More power to you.
