"No constraint for the right candidate"

I was interviewed by a US startup whose JD mentioned that their compensation is comparable to big tech and there are no constraints for the right candidate.

I went through the entire process (for 5 YOE) and ended up getting an 11 LPA senior SDE offer. When I asked about how this comp's comparable to big tech, they started spouting some PPP difference crap.

Later, they updated the JD to mention the 7 LPA to 12 LPA range but forgot to remove the statement about comparable big tech compensation.

Translation: bakwas hai budget, but pehle batakar aukad aur funnel dono ki marni nahi hai. So we'll interview you, and then lowball you with an offer that sucks.

Why stop at 1cr, no constraint they said. Better give a blank cheque!
