"2021 was the first time the decennial census of India was postponed in 150 years. No report on births, deaths and causes of deaths has also been released by the Registrar General of India for 2021, 2022 and 2023."

While I do know that the census is very much needed.
But why is it the point of contention? Why are people so impatient? What is it that we are missing out? What is it that will change after the census?

Why we need the corporate sector to report earnings data every quarter, why we need it at all? At the country level some genuine data about is required for policy making otherwise we can live in our fake lala land.
