no bs, how to do networking in tech meetups

So I'm 21 y/o M just recently moved to banglore. Out of curiosity I registered for a tech event and now I have got the invite. I have never been to a place like this and also struggle with breaking the ice.

Can you guys provide genuine conversation starters? I'm a fresher just doing an internship rn, any good network could give me a great referral. How to build a relationship with someone who's completely unknown to you??

I don't wanna sound too desperate so if you are an experienced individual, what would you like to hear from a fresher that's not like "to the face" explicit referral helps? What should be genuine way to go about it so that it doesn't sound one-sided.

True networking is about authentic contribution. Start by recognizing 2-3 areas where you excel. Share these during introductions, allowing those who resonate to approach you. For instance, 'I'm passionate about transformer AI and dedicate time to assist others.' Equally important is connecting people who can benefit from each other and listening attentively to their stories.
