Next Step - Consultant/ Product Owner

I dangle multiple roles ..sometimes of a consultant, of a product owner or a product manager while leading a team. I have expertise in a domain and skill but not technically. Unable to get past the first round of new job roles and feel stagnant in my current role. What's the next step in my career - in terms of upskilling or career changes? Any views (productive )on it are welcome.

See even if you are working on the asked role, still the recruiters check your tech skills by themselves. You cannot avoid it. But, what you can do is, you already have a secured job and your profile is also suitable to make a better switch. from now onwards, start focusing on your skills on daily basis. do some extra efforts for next few months, and revise all tech concepts. While doing so, simultanelously apply for the interviews as well. This strategy actually builds your career in long run.

Infact, to learn something, the best way is to become a part of the active group or community, where you can share your work, and get in touch with others. I am also be the part of such valuable community of tech and marketing persons. You can join it with below link:

You’re already straddling core leadership roles; now it’s about sharpening your narrative and picking a direction. Upskill just enough to complement your domain depth, not replace it. A targeted certification or real-world case project could tip the scale. Feeling stuck in the “almost there” loop? Talk to mentors on Hiked.in, they’ve been in your shoes and can help you cross the line.
