Newly married and mandatory office days

Currently its 2 days wfo, soon its going to be 3 days. How tough is it to manage family if I get married now? My parents are seeing matches and most probably it would be some girl who’s working in Hyderabad as its my home. I am currently working in Bangalore.

You would have not married if it was 5 days working like pre covid?

What’s WFO got to do with marriage? Being married to someone doesn’t mean you need to be around them 24/7. Always give your partner space and vice versa. Most probably your partner will be working too, so you both keep a healthy work and social life outside of marriage. Intertwining everything gets each person fed up in the long run. Good luck! :)

I got a different opinion from friends and people i know. They strongly suggested that i be with family for the starting few months for various reasons.

Obviously yes, you won’t go back to work right the next day after your wedding lol. Take leave or sabatical from your work and then you will have the honeymoon trip as well. 1 month is enough post marriage i feel. Rest you decide what you wanna do, its your marriage afterall. People here can only suggest their choices 😂

Finding a life partner isn't just about convenience or location.

Don't let logistics overshadow the importance of finding someone who truly complements your life.

Prioritize qualities that truly matter in a lifelong partner, even if it means stepping out of your comfort or navigating distance. The right person will make any sacrifice worthwhile.

PS. For you and everyone who is suggesting Hyd/Blr Girl: It's time to pause and reassess priorities.

In the relentless pursuit of progress, success, productivity, material wealth, we've all lost sight of the simple yet profound essence of life – human connection. Introspect how long those relationships last that are built on top of convenience and utility.

It’s totally fine with WFO and marriage. I hope the girl you marry will get job in benglore so both of you will be working. Meeting after long day, eating dinner together, cleaning together and then little post dinner walk. Been there done that.

Problem with this is, I don’t want to start a family in Bangalore. I am afraid that i get used to it and never go back to my family and friends. Also the cost of living here is too much.

It is not tough. All of us are doing that. You guys can decide if either of you move to the other's city of work and figure it out. Certainly doesn't warrant not marrying because your office is 5 days a week!

How is married life for folks where both work?

Just want to understand if it’s manageable when both are working. Like given the current cost of things in tier 2+ cities and uncertain employment scenes… I can’t imagine a household going well enough without both earning. If you’re such...
