Hello Viners, I've recently joined Cognizant as a Senior Associate.

  1. Any tips that you want to provide me?
  2. What is the current situation within the organization?
  3. How's the number of projects available?
  4. How's the hike percentage provided in the last two cycles?
  5. How's the work environment?
  6. Is the number of bench people too high?
  7. Is the bench duration also too long?
  8. Anything to worry about if not mapped to a project and benched?
  9. Any advice that you want to provide me as a new joiner.

Hi. First of all, welcome.
Situation here is sorta bad if you don't get a project. No, they not gonna throw you immediately out of company, but they will force you come office 5 days a week, 7-8hrs in OFFICE. if you are okay with that, that shouldn't be an issue. Secondly, I've personally met dozens who joined like 6 to 10 months ago and still waiting for a project. I myself joined 3 months ago and still didn't get a single call. So fingers crossed, hope you get a project soon. I am already planning on leaving the company. I just need that one offer letter and I am gonna hit resignation button

That's really scary what you mentioned but thanks for your honest feedback. Let's see what fate awaits me as I've just joined. Hope we all get mapped to a project soon.

Update. I just received a call yesterday, here cognizant has the policy that you cannot reject a project. Whatever project you get, you have to work. Am an IT guy with gopd experience and they are giving BPO project

Hello, im not highly experienced but if you do not mind i would like to share my opinion …
My total experience is 1.7 years and i can say that joining cognizant as my first job is the worst decision i made
As i have been allocated to project for just 6 months and later was kept in some dummy project for 6 months and from then and even now i have been on bench . I have applied for projects but got rejected because of no client experience or work experience .. Outside Cognizant is no better now as i am not even considered outside for jobs because of the same … just being on bench and having to attend office for 9-10 hours a day for all 5 days without any work is complete waste of time .. i am just waiting for another offer so that i can resign immediately from cognizant.

What is the bench strategy here in case of no project? Also are they putting people forcefully into pip or just throwing out of the company?
