New Job Goals

Going to start a new job in 2 weeks. And I have set some goals for me based on the learnings from previous jobs.

  1. No Email and Slack on Mobile.
  2. Complete onboarding+ meeting people in 1 month.
  3. Target Promotion within 1 year.
  4. Learn about the industry and different domains than restricting to tasks at hand.
  5. Develop good relationship with peers and manager majorly.
  6. Be unapologetic.

Open to any other suggestions.

Be flexible with point 3. If it doesn’t happen, remember it’s not your fault.

That's right. Going to put in the required effort, then will leave it to luck.

Lol... At point 1 and point 6.

Do you have less than 1 yoe?

Nope. Nearing 5.

  1. Company has a good culture. I have been in the same environment earlier and there hasn't been any push to be active post work time. The prospect company is similar too. Earlier I was pushing my boundaries by working out of my work time even when no one requested. So I'm going to stop it from now on.

  2. Again the prospect company supports that. Its high time people treat work as work. If I couldn't do it today, I'll complete it before deadline. If that doesn't work for the company, then it's a mismatch.

Major goal : I'm not going to push boundaries and toil myself ( which I was doing earlier).
