I have a offer from X company . After asking for resignation from Cognizant they are telling they will match the salary which X company wants to give. When I can expect that negotiable salary from cognizant if I say Yes to stay here .

Ask for a hike & promotion both.. in mail (then only take resignation back). Note - this can be harmful in some conditions

Get it in mail that cognizant will match the salary, but don't agree to staying back and then get the offer from x company raised based on CTS matching the offer. Best of both worlds 😁

Am also in same situation, have offer with X+6 from other org. CTS management comes for negotiation only after resignation or before that they will try to negotiate?
I know it’s purely based on project dependency, However my project/app is going to decommission by next year March, so client is not intrested to take another resource as per knowledge for short term and to train other resource, so can I take a chance to negotiate with management. Need your thoughts.

Just an opinion, if you get retained they will expect more from you every time.
