Got NI rating ,will get PIP, I hate my project only because of the skill mismatch , can I ask my manager to release me from the project and doing pip from the bench which aligns to my skill.
Pls suggest

Nope that will not happen. In your case most likely hr will not even give you an option of 5 months severance as your are billable. Either take PiP or get terminated.

I asked my manager for the release and said he will look into that option , will manage has the power to release me it's been a year and my skill mismatch

In pip they have different term and conditions bro. If u need job stay in project learn from your end and look outside
