Need Suugestion in switching the career paths

I am a SDET with 7 yoe, planing to switch domain by upskilling from scratch. Is it gud to switch to AI/ML side or backend engineer, given I am naive in both the worlds. Need suggestions based on current market trends, job opportunities and salary as well.
