My friend(SDE-1) joined their current team around 7 months ago. The team is really small - just 3 people: 2 experienced members and my friend (who's fairly new).
The problem is, one of the senior guys is extremely toxic - constant politics, bullying, and just overall making the work environment miserable. It's gotten so bad that the other experienced teammate has decided to leave the company because of him.
My friend tried asking for a team change a while ago, but there's been no response from management. On top of that, the on-call schedule is brutal - roughly 15 days out of 30.
At this point, what's the best move? Should they keep waiting for the team change, try escalating, or just start looking for another job altogether?
