Need suggestions on how to overcome politics of my coworker.
My team member chats with my client manager privately most of the times ( not in project group chat) and behaves as though he is a very nice polite and technically excellent person in the team. Actually he is not a polite person and he is kind of egoistic person.
Now a days, my client manager always wants me to include him in the tasks I do. Though I am equally capable of him technically, I feel I am valued less by my manager.
It is affecting my mind set and reduces my interest to work.
How can I overcome this ? I am not a person who praises or act extremely polite to impress my client manager.

@TargetHunterActually in my project the client directly assigns tasks and TCs manager role is very minimal. He only managed TCS things for us. But how can I ask that question to client in a team call..
Next time when you get request from client asking you to include him in the tasks you do, try to ask your client in a polite way the reason for the same, message should go like you want to understand where you can improve, what's the thing that the other guy is doing better and you aren't. This way client will get the impression that you really want to know the reason and wants to improve on it. This way you will start building your rapo with client and things will change.
In ideal world, client should not be interfering with the tasks and that should be taken care by your TCS manager as he knows the team better. Client should be only worried about the output, nothing else.
