Need suggestions on career

I am a mainframe developer with 5 years of experience, I already know python and sql as well. I would like to continue my journey as a developer but not interested in working in mainframe anymore. What would be the steps to take up or courses to learn so that I can switch to working in a different technology in the same company or in a different one ?
