Need Suggestions for Medical Insurance

So recently my dad visited a relative who was on a ventilator and when he came back he was quite anxious about what he saw and asked me to look for good Medical Insurance for the family. Now I did some research on the same but would love some of your suggestions of which to choose or how I can select a good one and from where.

Basic Requirements - 10 lac coverage (idk if that's enough or should I go for more) and good hospitals covered. Other details got me confused so maybe help me out.πŸ₯Ή

Thanks

Always buy 2 different plans. 1 for parents 2 for you and your wife, kids etc. Never combine these 2, as parents medical insurance will be very high due to age.

For parents, buy policy like this -> 5 Lakh base + 95 Lakhs top up Good option -> Star Comprehensive

For your policy -> 5lakhs base + 95 top up Good option-> Young star

These are the policies which I have... If you would like the number of my advisor, let me know.

Any charges or anything for the advisor?

Nope, he will get his commision from company only. You have to pay the same which you would, if you bought directly from company.

Had come across a video yesterday, don't buy one with room rent capping. Or any capping for that matter, anything excess gets taxed at 33%

That was because the guy took a room which 33% expensive then his allowed expenditure. That's why he had to pay 33% extra overall.

Check ditto health insurance. They help you in deciding the right cover and will guide you. Have heard lot of good reviews about them online.

Second this. I found HDFC Ergo to be quite good.

I can help but I don't know how to help you. Does this platform allow if I write my email id where you can contact me? I'm an IRDAI insurance advisor, Pension advisor and NISM certified mutual fund distributor. 15 lakh is good depending on floater or individual, the type of policy, features etc. Also your family past/current medical history needed to suggest. Health insurance is much complicated. It can't be suggested by simply giving names.
