For those appearing for Java Developer roles could you please share what kind of questions are being asked these days?

From what I’ve observed, the traditional interview style seems to be changing. Gone are the days when interviewers focused mainly on topics like design patterns and their usage .it feels like the expectations are getting much tougher now.

Could someone explain how the current interview process usually goes, and what kind of preparation is expected for someone with around 5 years of experience?

Also, from what I’ve heard, for example if someone’s current CTC is around 10 LPA, during the next switch HRs might initially offer 13 LPA, but they often say something like:

“We know you’ll probably come back at the last moment with a counteroffer, so we’ve kept some bandwidth to increase your offer later before you join.” I heard this from a friend who went through it.

So realistically, what’s the current market salary range for a 5 YOE Java Developer, especially considering that companies are now heavily investing in AI and cutting down on traditional developer hiring?
