Need Some Advice : Feeling Clueless About What’s Next

Hi all, I’m a C1 grade employee at TCS and got tagged in a project under the MFG unit a few months back. But honestly, from the last 3 months, I’ve had literally nothing to do. No proper work assigned. Even in our town hall, the unit head said we are still in the ramp-up stage. Someone even asked about the lack of work and it was kind of brushed off.

Now on 31st July, my allocation also ended (though I’ve seen sometimes it comes back in 5–7 days). But with no clarity, I’m just sitting confused.

One more thing – my base location is Mumbai, but I’ve been working from the Noida office due to some medical issues (had RMG approval when I was on the bench). It’s been 4 months now, and I’ve mailed multiple times regarding the location transfer, but no response yet.

I’m honestly worried — given all this, is there a chance of getting laid off? More than that, I’m feeling stuck. Sitting idle like this is also not good for my career.

If anyone has faced similar situations or has any suggestions on what I should do next — upskilling, internal opportunities, or anything — I’ll really appreciate your help.
