Need release from the project

I've been with TCS for three years, and for the last 1.5 years, I've been requesting a release from my current project, but it hasn't happened. I'm currently working with COBOL technology, which doesn't align with my interests or career goals. I've expressed my desire to transition into Python or data analytics multiple times, but nothing has changed. I'm genuinely concerned about my future and growth. I'm seeking advice on how to navigate this situation and ensure that I can work in a field that excites me and aligns with my career aspirations.

Did you do anything with wings 1 or wings 2 to showcase that you have knowledge on data analytics part

Udemy is not considered, external certificate or wings 1 or 2 matters

Deliberately underperforming is the surest, quickest way to secure a release. Keep fucking up deliberately on your deliverables repeatedly. Perform poorly and they’ll instantly release you

Yes it's clear from my delivery manager as well, any resources getting billing will not be released easily since it will effect their business performance showcase to higher management, they simply try to extend as much as possible and one day they will say management is not allowing to release, its better to stop working and fight very hard to get released ( still no100 % guarantee ) or simply upskill and switch..

I am in the same situation working in same project since 3 yr as SAP BASIS but I don't want to continue in that and want to make career in DATA field like Analyst or engineer. I also heard that this people don't release so we have to switch only.
