Trending @Cognizant; Need release from current project

What to do if my manager is not letting me get released from the project ( support project) I have been in this project for almost 18 months and according to policy after 18 months we can take release. This project is hampering my career as it's a non tech work.

Please guide me as I need the earliest project.
