really curious on why from Firmware engineer to SDE ?
I think I am mostly struck with C/C++ for rest of my life as a firmware engineer and it is mostly writing code within some guidelines to avoid some security errors and nothing more.
I think as a SDE I can learn a lot, like networking, handling concurrency, memory management etc, which excites me more than just writing C/C++ code snippets
Everything you mentioned, networking, concurrency, memory management it's all written in C programming. You may use python or other languages to make calls. But actual it's C program that makes it work.
Why do you want to do that to yourself?
Why is everyone surprised when I want to shift to SDE?
