From a ev owner, go for petrol for such low, my daily average is 75km, then I am able to save 150 around, but for such low will recommend petrol, also the issues are there in ev, actually many,

CosmicMochi
CosmicMochi

I agree. We can save only when daily average is 50-75 kms

@Remorseful what issues?

SillyUnicorn
SillyUnicorn

Trop scooty will give you 40 ka average that means hafte ka 100 rupees. Which is a good deal. Evs have a lot of issues.

CosmicMochi
CosmicMochi

Approx Rs. 26000-30000 in 5 years.
And If I buy EV then I would end up paying same amount I guess

Ev might give range anxiety. Plus in hot summer they might create a havoc

EVs are not durable compared to petrol vehicles but if cost doesn't matter to you, go for EV and contribute to the environment!!

FloatingKoala
FloatingKoala

Please explain why ev is not durable? In a moving vehicle, the number of individual components in a machine plays a major role in durability due to wear and tear. The number of components in an EV is 25% or lesser compared to ICE. So EV is extremely durable compared to ICE. Of course, if the quality of the components is bad, any vehicle is not durable. So such blanket statements are not valid.

Contribution to the environment is a myth.

I considered Ather 450s but dropped the plan. The shape of vehicle didn't excite me and their service pack seemed pricey

Yes. Ather is targeting youngsters

Go with petrol since you dont have that much running... Its better to go wirh petrol only.. ev tabhi use kro jab daily kaaa lamba distance covering hoo

CosmicMochi
CosmicMochi

Exactly. Calculated the cost based on running and battery replacement would make monthly costing high as compared to petrol

If charging is not an issue for you then EV is a good option

CosmicMochi
CosmicMochi

Charging is not the concern. I can charge once and use for 3+ weeks.
Issue is running is too low. Hardly 20-30kms in a week. That’s is why I am confused.

SqueakyUnicorn

Don't look at the money aspect alone. An EV is far better to ride plus will save you time visiting the fuel pump.

If you can charge at home, get a good EV. Will be worth it.

Consider occasional scenarios also - if you are planning to take the scooter out of town once every 2-3 months for short trips, then petrol scooters will give a tension free time. With an electric scooter, you will face range anxiety.

CosmicMochi

I own a car to travel out of the town.

I have TVS iQube. I bought it when the government was giving 50k subsidy on electric vehicles. I also have a very short running per week like you.
My only complaint is that - it's charging duration has increased from 4 hours to around 5 - 5.30hrs now. Other than that I have no complaints

Since how many years you’re using iQube? And how many kms you have driven
